No idea if there's any interest, but my plans for tonight are pretty much just idly play ukulele and read until I get tired, so if there's anything anyone would like to know, ask away.

why do trains hate you?

I have no clue. I also got word that for some incredibly ridiculous reason, they denied my refund request for the train ticket i was forced to buy because their stupid bus couldn't get me to Torino. So I had to file a complaint about my complaint and hope I don't have to eat 140€ train ticket.
Fuck trains, cars rule.

GM or Ford?

Is the "E." in your name short for Erange?

Oooh tough question. My hometown is near Flint, which is solidly GM, but I usually prefer Ford products. Broken down:
Small car: FiST
Practical car: Fusion
Fun practical car: Taurus SHO
Pony car: Mustang
Luxury car: CTS
Performance car: CTS V
Sports car: Corvette
Halo car: Ford GT

How long have you been playing Uke/what kind do you have? I got one last summer. It's a fun little instrument.

I learned my first couple chords/songs maybe three years ago, but only seriously started playing this year. I'm getting fairly decent, but I've also been learning guitar for three years now so a lot of the skills transfer over. I'm not sure exactly what model it is, but it's a Mahalo concert uke. My girlfriend got it for me as a gift, and I think it's pretty much the lowest tier where you could consider it a serious instrument and not a toy. That being said, with a few adjustments and nice new strings, it plays pretty decently. Definitely a fun little instrument, and I'm really enjoying having something to play in the absence of my guitars.

Do you play bluegrass

Not at that moment, but I wouldn't be opposed to it if I found a song I liked that was fun to play. Any recommendations?

Josh Turner's Would You Go With Me is a good entry into bluegrass styling, also a hella romantic song to play for the lady

Awesome! I have a Fender soprano. Nothing super fancy but definitely not a toy. I got Aquila RED strings and they made a huge difference. I haven't been playing much lately since I've been trying to actually learn the guitar for the last month or so. My dad gave me one of his guitars when I was in middle school and I'm just picking it up now at 20... For shame.

Aquila strings FTW. To be honest I think guitar is a better instrument to know, as it lends itself much more easily to a huge variety of musical styles and roles, not to mention there's much larger base of resources for guitarists. It also helps uke playing a ton; being able to do barre chords on a guitar is like a cheat code for uke playing.
What kind of guitar are you playing and what kind of music are you trying to learn?

I'm playing an Alvarez Regent. Again, nothing fancy but my dad bought it the year I was born and saved it for me, so sentimental value through the roof. I'm trying to learn a bit of everything. I got Blackbird by The Beatles down and I'm currently working on Creep by Radiohead. I think something by Dylan is next on the docket and after that, who knows. My dad plays a lot of Neal Young and Grateful Dead, so I'll make him teach me Friend Of The Devil and and a couple Neil Young tunes when I get some experience under my belt. I really want to learn California Dreamin' and Wish You Were Here at some point too.
I was telling my friend that I was trying to learn guitar the other day and he looked at me like I had three heads. Apparently people don't expect a hardcore hip-hop head to be into this kind of music. Ahaha

Defy all genres if you can, that's the way I see it. Sounds like you've got a pretty good set up going then, especially if your dad can teach you some stuff. I pretty much went from complete beginner to semi competent with nothing but online chord sheets and lots of spare time. I took a jazz guitar class last semester though and buffed my skills significantly, so having someone show you the ropes is huge.
